Introducing UNV v2: Token upgrade details

UNV v1 Token

In 2021, Unvest launched its first version of the UNV ERC20 token, during our Token Generation Event (TGE) using a bespoke contract tailored by our Launchpad provider. This initial deployment included custom fair launch mechanisms that added complexity to the contract.

Post-launch, we integrated with Multichain (formerly Anyswap) for cross-chain token bridging capabilities. However, following several security incidents and centralization concerns associated with Multichain, we recognise the need to disconnect UNV entirely from their services.

The transition to UNV v2

To address potential vulnerabilities from the UNV v1 contract and Multichain, we've deployed a new vanilla ERC20 token, UNV v2, now bridged across multiple networks via Axelar.

Upgrading from UNV v1 to UNV v2

UNV v1 tokens, some of which are still locked in vesting contracts and custom applications, can be upgraded to UNV v2 through our portal available on Ethereum, Polygon, and BNB Chain.

The entire UNV v2 supply, matching v1's 1 billion tokens, is ready for redemption, proportionally allocated across these networks. Our portal allows you to upgrade your tokens at a low gas cost with only a few clicks.

The upgrade portal will remain active indefinitely to ensure all tokens are upgraded, with all redeemed v1 tokens being burned. This means that if you still have locked UNV v1 tokens, you can wait for them to unlock before redeeming them for v2, without worrying about missing out.

Future Plans and BASE Network Integration

We plan to establish a Uniswap liquidity pool and staking on the BASE network soon - and will be bridging team tokens to BASE. Token holders can still move their tokens back to Ethereum at anytime for maximum security.

How to Upgrade

If you have existing tokens on Ethereum, BNB Chain or Polygon, you can upgrade your UNV v1 tokens here:

Bridging UNV v2 Tokens

Post-upgrade, bridge your tokens to BASE for trading and staking through Axelar’s service. Axelar provides an easy to use portal that allows for easy bridging of UNV between networks:

This upgrade enhances UNV token security and utility across networks, ensuring a robust ecosystem for our users. We invite our community to upgrade their tokens and we looks forward to announcing new features and opportunities in the Unvest network.
